{"id":2,"date":"2026-01-08T11:30:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T11:30:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aisling.net\/artcards\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2026-01-09T13:07:59","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T13:07:59","slug":"welcome","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aisling.net\/artcards\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hello!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This website is for people interested in mailart&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Specifically: artcards.<\/p>\n<p>Especially mine.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, this site exists for just one reason: To make it easy to\u00a0receive <strong>a free artcard from me<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are two main <em>kinds<\/em> of artcards: ATCs and other artcards.<\/p>\n<p>I create both kinds. It varies with my schedule. If it&#8217;s a busy week (or a hectic month, if we&#8217;re on the road), I may not send any out.<\/p>\n<p>Also, most of my cards go to friends in the U.S., since postage is a LOT less within this country. (However, I <em>do<\/em> send artcards to friends in other countries. So, if you&#8217;re outside the U.S., sign up anyway.)<\/p>\n<p>Be patient. Depending up on my time &amp; budget &#8211; and how many people sign up &#8211; you might get a card next week. Or, it might show up in a couple of weeks. They&#8217;re usually sent in envelopes, and sometimes as part of a swap.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s one of mine from around 2010. Here are more examples from around 2010: <a href=\"https:\/\/aisling.net\/category\/art-paper\/atcs-prints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATCs and Digital Art<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Often they&#8217;re shared with others. If you&#8217;d like me organize an ATC swap &#8211; or any kind of art swap &#8211; let me know. (Ask in comments, below.)<\/p>\n<p>Some ATCs are called <strong>ACEO<\/strong>s, which stands for <strong>A<\/strong>rt <strong>C<\/strong>ards limited <strong>E<\/strong>dition and <strong>O<\/strong>riginals. They&#8217;re a bit different.
