Yes, I’m getting back to my creative roots. I’m a third-generation artist, and one of the very first bloggers.
For the past couple of years, my husband and I have been exploring where to put down roots. It’s been quite a journey, but – as we’re narrowing our focus – I now have more time for art. That’s a huge relief!
(The photo shows art supplies we just brought in from our car. In that jumble are oil paints, acrylics, and mixed media art materials. I’m eager to unpack and start using them.)
This site started in the 1990s at Geocities, as part of the webring, Open Pages.
Back then, women were very much in the minority, online. It was prudent to use a pen name.
So, I chose the name “Aisling D’Art,” referencing my Irish heritage as well as my passion for art.
That’s also the name I used when I led workshops at arts events. They included Artfest, Art & Soul, Celebrate Art, and – for nearly 10 years – Dragon Con.
Now, I’m leaning into the “Aisling” name for my more experimental and one-off works of art, while returning to my birth name – Eileen Morey – for my fine art and photography.
So, you can expect to see more of my art at both websites, as well as in social media. And, at this site, I’ll be blogging as well.
