Busy with Photos…

Here’s my late September 2025 update:

I’m working on four Etsy shops featuring digital downloads.  (Because, clearly, I can’t work on just ONE thing at ONE time… right? LOL )

At two of those Etsy shops, I’ll be using my ridiculously huge collection of photos (over 4k photos, taken just since early July) to create affordable, digital downloads, starting at $1.

Here’s one of them:

Nubble Light – a lighthouse near York, Maine (USA)

Here’s another photo that I’m working with right now. I’d like to be able to offer it in poster size (as a digital download), but first I need to make sure the quality of the enlargement meets my standards, at an affordable price.

All in all, setting up these shops is more daunting than I’d expected. However, as I go along, I’m creating templates and systems to it’ll be far easier in the future.

If you’d like a sneak peek at that shop, here’s the link: The Silver Sea Gallery.  Just keep in mind that I’m still building that shop’s inventory, making tweaks in products and prices, etc. It will look VERY different in a week or two!

Meanwhile, I have managed to sort through over 20k photos from my years as a genealogical researcher. * blink-blink * (Until this week, I had NO idea how many of those pictures I had! )

(As a sideline, I used to research people’s ancestry – for an hourly fee, of course. I specialized in hard-to-trace Irish-American families’ roots, in the U.S. and in Ireland. I used some creative approaches to figure out which of the many “John Murphys” of Boston, Massachusetts – etc. – was the correct ancestor for some clients. But… it worked! And, helping my mom with the paperwork, she became an Irish citizen by descent.)

A mind-boggling 700+ of those genealogy-related photos are good enough to share as digital downloads. Wowza….!

However, they’re quirky and for a very specialized audience. So, they’ll be in a different Etsy shop. (Stay tuned for updates! )
